How to Refresh Your Home Without a Full Reno

Change up Lighting
A change in light fixtures can be incredibly transformative to an outdated space. For example, we replaced a single dated pendant for a linear fixture in this dining room. It instantly provided more light and created a powerful impact once you walked in.
Consider all your lighting options, such as overhead pendants, task lighting, table lamps, and wall sconces. There’s even an opportunity for smart-home integration to control your lighting configuration via your phone or an at-home command center.
Refresh your Walls
It’s pretty easy to refresh your walls over a weekend. A nice coat of paint can do wonders for a room; making it feel cleaner, brighter, and more together. Below is a before and after of a staircase that got such a treatment from us

Edit and Style
Start by editing out anything unnecessary or visually cluttered. Once you’ve edited out what you don’t need, style surfaces with intention: books, vases, trays, pictures, even plants. Try a mix of heights and textures when styling.
This also applies to hanging art. Redecorating is a great excuse to curate and edit the art pieces in your home. Even adding a different frame or a new placement for a beloved piece goes a long way!
Swap out Cabinet Hardware
A very easy way to give your home a facelift is to swap out any outdated hardware. Take a look at your kitchen, bathrooms, and any applicable furniture.
Upgrade your Soft Furnishings
Pillows, throw blankets and window treatments are fairly inexpensive items that can be upgraded and can have a big effect. I love swapping a few of these items at a time when the seasons change!
