Embracing Summer with Natural Decor

Many of us feel the urge to refresh our home décor from time to time. For me, it’s when the seasons change. My Feng Shui heart always wants me to acknowledge and reflect nature’s change with little tweeks to my space as a way to welcome the new seasons.
Summer is one of my favorite seasons to decorate for! The greens, terracottas, warm browns and dusty blues are incredibly inspiring. Even better: those hues are trending at the moment! This means I have plenty of inspiration for a nature inspired look.
Here are some of my favorite tricks to embrace the summer season with natural decor:
Incorporating New Textiles
Swap out those heavier wool blankets with lighter throws like linen and cotton. I also love to go the extra mile and change the cases on my pillows for a complete look.
Curating your Decor
A trend that I love is to create a gallery wall and then seasonally swap out some of the artwork to match the season. For summer I like to stick to tropical plant inspired works.
For something bolder, change up a focal point like a large piece of art or a mantle display. An abstract piece that represents the feeling of the season you’re trying to capture will always be striking.
Swapping out Light Fixtures
Ground yourself in nature this summer with a light fixture that’s strong with Earth Element. After the sun has finally gone down, I love utilizing bulbs with warm, low light. Pair that with a beautiful, textured lamp and you will have an incredible nighttime atmosphere in your home.
Adding Greenery
It’s always a good idea to add some sort of leafy greenery in your home, but it’s extra magical in the warmer months.
If you have a green thumb, summer is a perfect time to add another plant or two in the home. For those less inclined to garden, there are plenty of convincing faux plants.
