Last summer I was contacted by a prior client for a living/dining room makeover. She and I have worked on two other projects in the past and she remains a favorite memory and client, so I was very happy to take this on!
An overview of what we accomplished:
A completely new color story including refinishing floors
Custom millwork
New furniture and furniture plan
Custom carpet
New window coverings
New bar cabinet
Refurbishment of items she wanted to keep as well as her beloved artwork.
Upgrading and changing the electrical with new fixtures, adding dimmers and more outlets.
In our first project meeting for this we discussed what would stay and what could go. The opportunity to reuse and revive existing furniture always brings me joy; sustainability paves the way for a brighter future. We began discussing a new color story that worked with what we had done previously. From there I developed a timeline for the priorities and sub-contractors and we started shopping for product!
As part of the new look, we decided on a custom carpet from Merida Studio. They are a domestic maker of beautiful product and our client loved going to the studio and custom selecting the colors she wanted in the overall design.
Then we shopped at several fabric studios in the D&D building which was exciting because we were set out to refurbish her favorite chairs. The fabric that was selected was from Romo Fabrics and the leather piping was from Samuel and Sons. Check out the before and after pictures below!
The sofas and dining tables were ordered from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
The cocktail table along with the smaller tables were from Arteriors.
The new dining room features this gorgeous new chandelier from Visual Comfort. It makes for a glorious statement, along with the new custom cabinetry we put into both spaces.
Finally the new window shades and gorgeous teal velvet draperies, from The Shade Store, pulled it all together.
Voila! A whole new look!
