WARM MODERN APARTMENT
LOCATION: Midtown, Manhattan NY
AGENT: Iman (Bacodari) Barkhordari of Douglas Elliman
This apartment had become a bit shabby and shop-worn over the last few years. A unique layout to the building in that its square footage was essentially doubled after merging of the two adjacent apartments. While it's current owners found the expansion useful for their own purposes, it now seemed un-cohesive on the selling market. This post-war apartment inherited low ceilings and bold color scheme. The last occupants of the apartment had not taken care of the space and the owners wanted to invest in some minor changes before putting it on the market.
Julie Schuster Design Studio recommended a mini-renovation that included a neutral color scheme, a complete repair of all the damaged ceilings and walls, the removal and concealing of all exposed electrical wiring, and finally refinishing the damaged wood flooring throughout .
After careful measurement of the space, we applied Feng Shui principles and created a new furniture plan that allowed for a more gracious flow of the compact but very usable space. Sourcing from our own furniture rental contacts, Julie Schuster Design Studio procured the furnishing and arrange for delivery. Supervising installation and carefully curating modest decorative accessories and accents to created a cozy midtown home ready to be shown to a prospective buyer.
