KITCHEN / DINING ROOM

Jazzing up the kitchen with minimal effort and no gut renovation. Painting the back-splash in a bold aqua to contrast off of the white floating shelves.

A petite dining room set is arranged in the living room for a multi-functional space. Patterned aqua chairs are selected to coordinate with the freshly painted trim work.

To modernize the kitchen, the existing kitchen cabinetry was re-painted in a white satin finish and new black hardware was installed. Corner cabinet was removed and in its place is a new Bosch dishwasher. We preserved the peninsula's butcher block counter-top and painted the base cabinetry in a bold aqua color to coordinate with the glass globe pendants.

When working with small spaces, especially a galley kitchen it is important to achieve a nice proportion of light and dark elements. A dark porcelain floor was selected for its functional and maintenance free properties. Conscious of the fact that we didn't want to create a visually small space by adding more dark components, white shaker style cabinets were selected, along with white appliances and white stone counter top.

In order to create a design connection to the floor and create some visual interest, a black linear strip of tile runs along the back-splash with a field of white 3x6 tile.

A great way to make your galley kitchen feel less heavy is by adding clear glass panels to the upper cabinetry. Glass's reflective property will help lighten up the space. It also gives an opportunity to display.

Functional pieces are essential to any kitchen. Pull out sprayer faucet is positioned justified left of the sink to allow for a wider undermount sink. Maximize the counter space, use every inch possible.

Adding to the minimalist qualities of a kitchen a simple linear cabinet hardware is installed. Brushed in finish to be maintenance free.
